The 44th edition of the Vätternrundan Cycling Festival in Motala Sweden proved once again that this cycling event is as successful as ever. This truly is the biggest amateur cycling event in the world!
The bright and spacious EXPO area where Free Motion where exhibiting Gran Canaria Cycling Holidays supporting by the Spanish Tourist Board, there was no shortage of interest in where to go for cycling during the long Swedish winters, as well as the chance to win a cycling holiday on Gran Canaria sponsored by Free Motion and hotel ****Sandy Beach.

The mood of the event is definitely amateur, with young and old, on sleek carbon bikes to shopping bikes, from the latest cycling footwear to humble sneakers, the goal of all is to finish in what ever time they can. The Swedish night is only a few hours long, so most of the riding is in soft Swedish sunshine. With many thousands of local Swedes lining the sunny route, you never short of a supportive cheer!
General Manager of the event Eva-Lena Frick was proud to state that nearly 19000 took part on the Vätternrundan 300k with over 95% finishing and no accidents. In these figures over 7000 took part for the first time, showing the Vätternrundan will become the new ride of the year for the cyclist in everybody.
